National Danish Performance Team In Minneapolis on November 5th, 2010

The National Danish Performance Team (NDPT: http://www.ndpt.dk/ ) will be in Minneapolis as part of their 8 month World Tour to bring their national tradition of Gymnastics Performance to the USA. For over 80 years the NDPT has been presenting their excellent performances built on the Danish display gymnastics tradition and culture. The Danes are known worldwide for these amazing shows and the Twin Cities have been picked to host the NDPT for several days in early November (November 2 -7).
One of the main goals of  the Danes is to  inspire and motivate a healthy life style through physical activity. In Denmark, gymnastics is considered a lifetime sport and the entire country shows up in the thousands to cheer on their national tradition as displayed by the NDPT. They also have a mutual exchange of cultural experiences with people all over the world and the Minnesota Gymnastics community will have a chance to see this amazing display at the Minnehaha Academy North Campus Gymnasium in Minneapolis on Friday November 5th at 7:30 pm.

Being one of the most unique display gymnastics teams in the world, they tell stories through their magnificent performances, motivating and playful workshops and forthcoming personalities. On Wednesday, November 3rd they will be doing short demonstrations at the Mall of America rotunda and then Thursday they will be joined by several members of the University of Minnesota men’s gymnastics team at two workshops – one at the Minnehaha Academy and one at Palmer Lake Elementary School in Brooklyn Park.
Their 90 minute performance will be on Friday, November 5th at the Minnehaha Academy. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students with children under 5 getting in for free.
